Spicy Poondu Thuvaiyal / Garlic Chutney



Ingredients required for making Poondu Thuvaiyal (Garlic Chutney)

Peeled garlic cloves - 2 cup
Red chillies - 6
Roasted gram - 4 tbsps
Tamarind - lemon size
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.
A sprig of curry leaves
Salt - 3/4 tsp.

Method for making Poondu Thuvaiyal (Garlic Chutney)

  1. Heat 1 tsp. of oil in a kadai and roast the garlic and red chillies. 
  2. Now add this to the mixie along with roasted gram, tamarind, salt and water.
  3. Grind all ingredients together to get a smooth chutney.
  4. Season with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
You can serve this with any breakfast or lunch items.
